To Kiss or Not Kiss?

Imagine being with a significant other the time is right and the mood is set. Now you’re wondering what’s next and what should you do? So they lean in and you lean thinking they’re about to kiss you and they don’t. Now you’re sitting here trying to play it off hoping they didn’t see it. I’ve been there and my whole mood changed and my intensity and passion left with my embarrassment. Now you’re confused, because verbally they say they want you. Yet they never kissed you or even tried with or without sex. Is kissing too passionate, does it locks in the emotions, does it it make it all real ? Honestly, I don’t know how to go about this. I of course always think a conversation should be had, but be prepared for the reply. I hate for you to be laughed at in a vulnerable moment causing you to be closed off and stuck in defense mode. To honestly skip all this confusion one thing you can do is simply ask how they feel about kissing when you all first interact. I like how a recent guy in my life asked me is kissing ok before anything transpired. That experience gave me a new perspective, because no one wants a forced kiss! However, you also don’t want someone to say, “wait I’m not into you like that”. In my past I thought maybe he’s not that into you and the obvious guy doesn’t think you deserve that.  I just think sex without a kiss doesn’t connect you, it feels like two individuals having sex for personal pleasures. You may think well that's what sex is, but I just think kissing brings it full circle and shows you that wanting. Kissing for me can also ignite a fire in me. I guess it's a turn on if you kiss me with wanting and desire. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had forced kisses and it’s so uncomfortable and changes the mood, but I feel if you’re both on the same page emotionally… why aren’t you kissing.. Especially, if we’re so locked in.
